Baleia Blu Ceramics

Handmade by Adette Contreras in Brooklyn, NY. Inspired by a big blue whale and our little blue planet.

The Home Studio & Updated Website

Most of my shots here are from the ceramics studio, but a lot of the Baleia Blu work happens for the site: editing process shots, updating the journal, and today, updating the shop with new pieces and overhauling the homepage.

The shop has a nice airy feel to it this time, since I opted for a light background. Not as high-contrast as last season, but I like that each season will be grouped together visually by a different color for the backdrop.

The homepage got a makeover too, since I really like how the photos of the held pieces turned out. All the blue is a nice flood of color for the site, and it complements the airy feel of the ivory backdrop for the product shots.

So all this work happens in my home studio, my other happy place. The southern-facing light creates such a wonderful working environment, and MÃ¥ns and I have designed the space to feel creative and inspiring. The Goose, the sunlight, green tea, and a mellow Saturday morning is all I need. (The 14' ceilings don't hurt either...)
