Glazing Gaudí Pieces
Lookie lookie. Gaudí-inspired pieces are out of the kiln and ready for glazing. The mugs shrunk by quite a bit, so the handles are pretty tricky to hold now, since they don't fit like they did before, but that's to be expected. I think the glaze is going to help a lot.
Briefly contemplated a different color combination than my tried and true: white and blue. But I really want to see what these pieces look like with the usual scheme, so it was a fleeting moment. Was originally planning on making the handles a different color than the mug body, but I decided to concentrate the pop of blue along the rim. Fingers crossed these turn out well. Photos below of the glazing process so that I can see how much the glaze runs in the finished pieces.
For the bowls, I debated keeping them just plain speckled white, but the rims are so interesting, with the folded in piece, so I'm trying the same look there. One of them didn't dip all the way, so I'm excited to see how that little variance plays out in the finished piece.
